MONTHS. A MAN WHO IS A RETIRED U-S AIR FORCE LT. COLONEL…A LAW PROFESSOR AND AN ORDAINED MINISTER…SPOKE IN BILLINGS THIS WEEKEND. Q-2’S DAVID JAY TALKED WITH JOHN EIDSMOE ABOUT HIS PRESENTATIONON THE HISTORICAL AND THEOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE U-S CONSTITUTION. NATS “HOW DO WE CREATE A GOVERNMENT THAT HAS ENOUGH POWER TO GOVERN EFFECITVLEY, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME RESTRAINING THAT GOVERNMENT. JOHN EIDSMOE SAYS THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION IS BASED ON THE BIBLE INCLUDING THE 10 COMMANDMENTS. JOHN – 1;18 THE VALUES THAT WE FOUND OUR NATION UPON ARE FOUND IN THOSE 10 COMMANDMENTS. LIKE RESPECT FOR LIFE AND THE COMMANDMENT THOU SHALL NOT KILL AND THE RESPECT FOR PROPERTY AND THOU SHALL NOT STEAL. RESPECT FOR TRUTH AND THOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS.” THE BIG SKY WORLDVIEWFORUM INVITED EIDESMOE WHO IS THE LEGAL COUNSEL FOR THE FOUNDATION FOR MORAL LAW IN MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA. 8:20 AND BY UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE , READING THE CONSTITUTION, YOU MIGHT EVEN UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE BETTER TOO. THEY’RE KIND OF LIKE TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN IN A SENSE 8:30 HE SAYS WHILE “SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE” IS NOT IN THE 1ST AMENDMENT.THE IDEA CAME FROM A THOMAS JEFFERSON LETTER TO THE DANBURY BAPTISTS IN 1802. JOHN ” WHEN HE TALKED OF THIS WALL OF SEPARATION, HE MEANT IT AS PROTECTING THE CHURCH FROM THE STATE” EIDESMOE HAS WRITTEN 14 BOOKS AND SAYS THE FOUNDERS UNDERSTOOD LAW IS BASED ON MORALITY. 8:00 AND MORALITY ULTIMATELY HAS ITS SOURCE IN RELIGIOUS BELIEF. WHETHER YOU WANT TO ADMIT IT OR NOT , LEGISLATING IS A MORAL AND RELIGIOUS EXERCISE. 8:13 THE FRAMERS SHOWED A GREAT DEAL OF 15:08 GENIUS IN THE WAY THEY DESIGNED THIS CONSTITUION AND I THINK WE’D BE BETTER OFF IF WE STUCK TO IT INSTEAD OF TRYING TO REVISE IT 15:16 AND REINTERPRET IT INTO SOMETHING THAT THEY NEVER INTENDED IT TO BE. 15:19 AND HE SAYS ALL CITIZENS CAN KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THE CONSTITUTION. READ THE BIBLTE. READ THE CONSTITUION. STUDY IT AND THE CONSTITUTION WAS NEVER WRITING WITH THE IDEA THAT ONLY LAWYERS SHOULD KNOW IT TAKE YOUR BELIEFS AND PUT THEM INTO PRACTICE. 9:53 . THIS IS INTENDED TO BE UNDERSTOOD BY THE COMMON MAN AND WE SHOULD ALL BE READING IT. 11:25 WE SHOULD ALL BE STUDYING IT. DJ.MTN NEWS.BILLINGS. You couldn't be more incorrect. There were no references to religion or religious beliefs in the Constitution. It can be said that all documents that dictate the manner in which a people shall live together have a basis of moral beliefs. In reality the U.S. Constitution was designed to protect the majority from the minority.
