Balancing your childcare subsidy is all
about making sure you get the right amount based on your circumstances. So
how does it all work. At the end of each financial year Centerlink looks at your
actual income and compares it to the estimate you gave us throughout the year.
They then work out if you are paid too little, just the right amount, or too much.
Once Centrelink have done that, they’ll send you a letter to let you know your
outcome. So what do you need to do to balance your payments for Childcare
Subsidy. You and your partner need to lodge your tax return before your
payment can be balanced. If you don’t need to lodge a tax return, you need to
tell Centrelink. This may be different to previous years. Do this online in your
Centrelink online, account through myGov, or Express plus Centrelink Mobile app.
