City of Albuquerque files legislation to declare two 711s public nuisances

STORES WITH A HISTORY OF SHOOTINGS… THEFT… AND ASSAULT… ARE NOW BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE. JACKIE… THE CITY SAYS THE 711 IN NOB HILL AND ANOTHER ONE IN SOUTHEAST ALBUQUERQUE HAD MORE THAN 700 POLICE CALLS COMBINED IN THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF. NOW, THE CITY IS NOW STEPPING IN. CITY COUNCILOR PAT DAVIS SAYS DECLARING THEM AS NUISANCE PROPERTIES WILL FORMALIZE THE CITY )S CRIME PREVENTION PLAN FOR THESE BUSINESSES… LIKE MORE LIGHTING AND SECURITY. 7-11 TOLD THE CITY IT IS COMMITTED TO SPENDING MORE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. BUT DAVIS SAYS IF THEY DON )T MAKE CHANGES QUICKLY… THE CITY WILL TAKE THEM TO COURT. 3:18 This is extraordinary. we have only done this once in the last 2-3 years with another business in albuquerque but when you lead the city in calls for service for a particular address over time, there is something wrong with the way things are happening there” 3:33 THAT OTHER BUSINESS DAVIS IS REFERRING TO IS THE SAHARA MOTEL ON GIBSON. THE CITY TOOK THEM TO COURT LAST YEAR TO GET NEW MANAGEMENT… WHICH DAVIS SAYS HELPED SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE CRIME THERE. Again nice job mayor for applying Leftists tactics to solve the problem. Blame the businesses and not the criminals or APD not being allowed to take care of the problem. Yup, punishing your Law abiding citizens will do the trick as usual.

It's all the losers the courts keep setting free over and over. Yeah there's a d*mn problem, criminals running free to destroy our city. More and more homeless invading every nook and cranny. It's disgusting. Get innovative Albuquerque come up with ideas to help fix the dang problem and finally stop failing to prosecute! So many cases dropped everyday and a kiss on the hand, oh wait I mean slap on the wrist for those actually charged with anything.
Set an example that it will not be tolerated any longer and maybe someone will take things seriously.

How about hold the DA and judges accountable for whichever repeat offenders they chose to let free and are now doing what they do best.

THANK GOD! If you live near one of these 7-11's you realize what a problem they've been. Letting party's go on in the parking lot all night. Sold booze to minors but someone at the state kept them from getting their liquor license revoked. The pumps have been set on fire at the one pictured. A man killed in the last two months in the parking lot…

What happen to the police station that's going up right across the street? Sure that would curb crime at San Mateo and Kathryn. I think 7-11 needs Armed guards to search, loss prevention, so taxpayers don't need assistance from state employees that they pay for. What a joke! Don't reelect this idiot…..
