THE GOVERNOR HAS UNTIL 20 DAYS AFTER FINAL ADJOURNMENT TO SIGN, VETO OR ALLOW IT TO BECOME LAW WITHOUT A SIGNATURE. SO WE MAY NOT KNOW THE FATE OF EVERY BILL PASSED UNTIL JUNE 16TH. SYDNEY: THE GOVERNOR ALSO HAS LINE-ITEM VETO POWER.. IN BILLS THAT CONTAIN “SEVERAL ITEMS OF APPROPRIATION”. THAT REALLY COMES INTO PLAY WITH THE 250-MILLION DOLLAR BUDGET BILL. LAWMAKERS SLIPPED LANGUAGE INTO IT SUNDAY THAT WOULD FUND A ONE MILLION DOLLAR PUBLIC SAFETY CAMPAIGN ON SAFE GUN STORAGE. THE NRA OPPOSES IT.
