this bunch of clowns needs a court jester…this guy looks the part, but all he does is spout logic defying garbage…just because you say you're innocent doesn't mean you are
oh, and as to the 'highest standard of justice'?
only for the poor are those 'standards' enforced, you'll notice
here's to the end of the scared rich white guys!

If economic sanctions can be put upon Russia for invading and occupying Crimea by the free world, then why can't economic sanctions be put upon Israel for invading and occupying Palestine by the free world?

If some of the Japanese officers after WW2 were convicted of being war criminals for waterboarding people (of which Japan was actually nuked, twice), then how come Bush #2 / Cheney are not being brought to trial as war criminals for authorizing waterboarding people?

When other nations do something humanity doesn't like, the USA stands up and calls them out.
When the USA does things humanity doesn't like, the USA makes excuses and says things like it doesn't recognize the ICC.

"Rightious Might": Who's 'rightiousness' though? And 'Might does not always make right', otherwise, let bullies be bullies in school and mass shootings would be okay then too.

"Domestic judicial systems already hold American citizens to the highest legal and ethical standards."
(Unless your the President of the USA who is trying to and succeeding, in expanding the unitary powers of the Presidency to make themselves King over the USA's democracy.)

Hello, Humans. In the words of the great Tony Montana from (Scarface) “What you lookin’ at? You all a bunch of fuckin’ assholes. You know why? You don’t have the guts to be what you wanna be? You need people like me. You need people like me so you can point your fuckin’ fingers and say, “That’s the bad guy.” So… what that make you? Good? You’re not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie. Me, I don’t have that problem. Me, I always tell the truth. Even when I lie. So say good night to the bad guy! Come on. The last time you gonna see a bad guy like this again, let me tell you. Come on. Make way for the bad guy. There’s a bad guy comin’ through! Better get outta his way!” – Tony Montana

The definition of his massage is that since Israel and the American government are mighty allies they are immune to any ICC investigation regardless of any war atrocities or crimes committed, American terrorist protecting Israeli terrorist, our freedom loving nation has become the enabler and protector of terrorist nation's around the world

translation: "We do commit crimes against human rights and also war crimes. As we will call out anyone else who also commited them and then go and dronekill them without trial, all other human beeings shall not be able to sentence us because we are supporior"
Or in short: "Heil the white Us"

  • findtherror

Disgraceful. Threatening a court because they want to prosecute you does not make you look innocent. I hope the ICC will not shy away but go on with their work and hold all war criminals accountable

  • Washoewillie

So, what is this walrus faced clown gonna do? Chase the court members down a hallway while screaming at them? Bang and scream at their hotel door in the wee hours? Bolton actually did this to a woman.

  • Leonaza7

To the pocahontas ad, wrong messenger. She lied about her heritage. That's the end of her credibility. Now she wants to speak of corruption?! Laughable.

so theres no respect for the politically motivated easily corrupted mysteriously instigated unanswerable 'authority' of the icc nor is there some magically believed apology for rejecting the hilariously polluted blame america power obsessions which conveniently support themselves with rhetorical debate and accusatory argument rather than confrontation of whatever crisis is in question. the icc 'mindset' is much like the humiliated revoked clinton crew democrat delusions and their tabloid trash media, i.e. they expect to be the critics and criticize yet are discredited by their warped concerns and failures to put content in (constitutionally) correct context. almost as if validating their egos concerning others political 'fairness' is their purpose. well stated and endorsed, bolton, and not much a shocker based on the presidents pre election evaluation not to mention the cabinet appointments. granted, the left will hype panic and sensationalize this as to what never was anything legit to begin with. lol.

  • Ken Phillips

What a farce. Bolton could equally direct his words towards his own country. He has a problem with the ICC and two big reasons are the Palestinians who want to take Israel there to determine whether it acted legally or not; and second he is fearful that the US might be found to have performed war crimes. As Spanky would say …. if you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear. This is just shameful hypocrisy.

  • william hubschwerlin

To defeat terrorism in this world, one has to also stop being a terrorist. America became corrupt to core and people like Bolton should be charged and executed for war crimes.

  • Mali Yojez

We thought we’d seen the worst of Trump’s White House this week, but now he’s protecting war criminals while the rest of his government sits idly by. Shame on you, America.

  • Harold Ellis

I am wondering, is the 28 thumbs up to 42 thumbs down a function of the presentation by the Washington Post, or a reaction to John Bolton?

  • Ian Grant

Incredible effect on certain sorts of people speaking to a sympathetic audience: that they feel in no way obliged to provide any reasons whatsoever for why anybody should accept a single word they say! 😂

I think a global ideal in which the people of all societies are supplied a life of wellness and freedom is a goal that all liberated people should strive to support. With that said, as a citizen of the U.S. I do not support submitting to a global coalition such as the ICC. Such actions weaken U.S. sovereignty. I completely agree with the U.S. administration's rejection of being subject to the ICC, and it's explicit push back against the organization. Other countries are already withdrawing. Experts believe that Kenya, Namibia, and Uganda may soon follow in withdrawing from the court, while South Africa is still committed to withdrawing, leading to a mass African exodus. President Rodrigo Duterte announced on March 14, 2018 that the Philippines will start to submit plans for its withdrawal from the ICC. I for one am for a world that DOES NOT include a world governing court such as the ICC. If the U.S. judicial system is flawed or if it is corrupt it is OUR duty as citizens to fix it through our rights and power as citizens. As for undeveloped nations that seek to develop a governing system that promotes liberty and justice, they should have the freedom to work toward establishing such a system through the will of the people. Such a system, if it promotes liberty and justice, will include the implementation of a justice system that prosecutes international crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. Handing even a sliver of our sovereignty to a global coalition to enforce law is a slap in the face to the millions and millions of people who have given their lives and continue to give their lives to SUPPORT America's sovereignty.

Thank you President Trump!!!! The crime against PRIVATE PROPERTY of US confiscated in 1960 must be returned to their legitimate owners or families with rights of inheritance! America will not be a signatory to the International Criminal Court because Bolton and his warmonger buddies George Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld would all be brought before the ICC and charged with war crimes for the illegal invasion of Iraq, the death of 1,000,000 Iraqi soldiers and civilians, 6,000 US troops and a cost to America of US$3 trillion… Follow the missing money back to Halliburton HAL (NYSE), Blackwater and others.
