Loui Lord Nelson on Joining Culturally Responsive Design and Universal Design for Learning

We believed that we needed to spend time
discussing Culturally Responsive Teaching and Universal Design for Learning together because Culturally Responsive Teaching,
one aspect of it is that it brings to life helping
us understand relevance. The relevance that students need to have
and see with the work they’re going to do. Universal Design for Learning –
that’s a heavy part of engagement. So by bringing those two pieces together, we know that’s one more
step forward for our students to be able to
look into their learning, for all of our students to
hook into our learning, and to move forward as successful learners. [Music]
