Bringing down the high cost of
prescription drugs could be a step closer. Today, supporters of a bill by New Jersey Congressman Frank Pallone spoke
out in favor of the legislation and at an event for senior citizens in Long Branch.
It would require some prices of some of the highest costing drugs be negotiated
by the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services and also the manufacturers. Many of the same drugs are sold in foreign countries for a fraction of that price.
The other argument is well they do all this research and if they don’t have a lot
of money then they won’t be able to do the research. Well again – you know – we
shouldn’t be paying for the research while everyone else doesn’t and there’s
more than enough money for research. Pallone believes his bill will pass the
U.S. House this fall and he’s optimistic about the Senate and President Trump
