October 2nd: Bill of Rights Ratification


On Oct. 2, 1789, twelve articles went to the states for ratification. A contentious debate raged between the Federalists, who opposed the articles, and the Anti-Federalists who supported them. Ten of the articles were ratified by the necessary three-fourths of states by December of that year. These ten became what we now call the Bill of Rights. U.S. Money Reserve
