Republican Senator Blocks Legislation To Stop Foreign Election Interference

Republican Senator Mike Crapo yesterday decided that we don’t need to secure our elections. We don’t need to prevent foreign countries from meddling in United States elections. And Crapo single handedly blocked a bill that had originally been put forward by democratic Senator Chris van Hollen and Republican Senator Marco Rubio. But Crapo blocked this bill that would have imposed sanctions on any country caught meddling in US elections within 30 days of them being caught. Sounds like a pretty fair bill, right? You meddle in our elections here in the United States. We’re going to put sanctions on your country. Don’t screw with our elections. Simple message. Now, Democrats…

Confederate Monuments Are Being Destroyed – This Should Have Happened Decades Ago

By now, I’m sure most people have seen the footage of angry protestors going out and ripping down confederate monuments in the United States. Some have reacted with joy, others reacted in absolute horror that people would destroy these monuments to American history. I say, go for it. Take them down now. But the one thing we’re actually not hearing enough about at this point, is that city council’s all throughout the south, are actually working now to move these monuments and get them out of the public. So, yeah, the protesters are out there taking these things down forcefully. But they are not the only people working to get…

Steve Mnuchin Repeatedly Suggests Trump Should Violate Constitution During Fox Interview

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin appeared on FOX News this past weekend to discuss the recently passed spending bill that Donald Trump signed, but Donald Trump was totally not cool with signing it even though he did it anyway. Steve Mnuchin had to go on FOX News to explain this away and make Donald Trump’s case for him. Unfortunately for Mnuchin, the fact that he knows nothing about the federal government or the laws of this country was on full display and Chris Wallace, FOX News host, was not afraid to let him know that. Take a look. But the Democrats demanded a massive increase in non-military spending. That’s gonna balloon…

Mike Pence Says We Should Be Building Even More Confederate Monuments

In an attempt to prove that his boss, President Donald Trump, is not the only disgusting member of the Trump administration. Vice President Mike Pence went on Fox and Friends Tuesday morning, to talk about this poor, pitiful South, the Southerners, losing all these wonders-ly beautiful monuments to slavery. Pence said that he doesn’t want to see any monuments taken down; in fact according to Mike Pence we should be building more monuments. Now he did go on to clarify that, ” We’ll keep the ones we have, maybe make a few more of those, but we should also probably throw in some great civil rights pioneers and things like…

Party Systems: Crash Course Government and Politics #41

Hello, I’m Craig and this is Crash Course Government and Politics. And today we’re gonna talk about, well, mostly history. Wait Stan, this isn’t Crash Course History. This must be some kind of exception, like the Mongols. [Mongoltage] Apparently we’re not stepping on anybody’s toes by talking about the history of American political parties, as long as we stay away from history in general. Thank goodness, we wouldn’t want to start a Crash Course interdisciplinary feud. Just kidding, I’m totally feuding with that Phil guy over at Astronomy. [Theme Music] Political historians like to divide America into eras according to which parties were active at the time. These are called…
