    Autonomous Car Legislation

What exactly is an autonomous car? Because I’m not really sure, are you drive and/or stop it, or how involved is the driver? Well it’s interesting because we now have legislation that defines what an autonomous vehicle is, our North Carolina Legislature has passed a statute regarding the use of autonomous vehicles. This statute goes into effect December 1, 2017, that’s this year. Wow. So, an autonomous vehicle is a vehicle that’s capable of controlling every aspect of vehicle dynamics on the roadway, so, it can do everything. Now- Wow. Yeah, the statute that goes into effect has some specific criteria, it has to be able to handle all dynamics…

    The Articles of Confederation

THE ARTICLES OF CONFEDERATION REPRESENTED THE ONLY WAY OF CREATING AN EFFECTIVE ALLIANCE AMONG THE AMERICAN REPUBLICS. THE AMERICAN PROVINCES HAD VERY LITTLE TO DO WITH EACH OTHER UNDER THE BRITISH EMPIRE. ONLY NEIGHBORS WOULD HAVE CERTAIN ARRANGEMENTS, OR COMMON POLICIES. BUT, BY AND LARGE, THE PRIMARY RELATIONSHIP WAS BETWEEN EACH PROVINCE AND BRITAIN. AND SO THE AMERICAN PROVINCES, WHICH HAD NO EXPERIENCE OF BEING INDEPENDENT POLITIES, OF GOVERNING THEMSELVES, IN FOREIGN POLICY, PARTICULARLY, SUDDENLY FACED A CHALLENGE, VERY MUCH LIKE THE CHALLENGE THAT A GROUP OF INDEPENDENT NATIONS WOULD FACE. THE FACT THAT THEY CONSTITUTED A CONGRESS, OR HAD A SERIES OF CONGRESSES, IS PRECISELY WHAT THE SAME WORD…

    The Problem With Confederate Monuments

The confederacy was on the wrong side of history. There was a Civil War, the south lost. They fought for a cause that was to deny the humanity to millions of our American citizens. What has changed though, is that the city of New Orleans is not longer revering that cause as though it was the just cause and the right cause. We have spent the last 12 years rebuilding our city and as we look forward to our 300th anniversary, the people in the city started thinking about building the city back, not necessarily the way it was, but they way it could have been if we would have…

What if the South Won the American Civil War?

The Civil War was the most devastating conflict in America’s history. Roughly 640,000 Americans died in the four-year fighting between the Union and Confederates which eventually resulted in a Southern defeat, keeping the United States, well, United. But what if in an alternate timeline, the South won the Civil War? “What?” many ask. “What would even be the outcome had the Confederates [won]? “What would be the possible scenarios of a Southern victory?” Well, dear viewer, stop interrupting me; it’s quite rude. That is what this video is about. By looking at facts and historical events, we can get a few rough ideas about what this Confederate independence might look…
