The Convention of States Article V Application in 2 Minutes

Article V of the United States Constitution
gives We the People the power to put the federal government back in its constitutional box
and expand liberty for all. Once two-thirds of the states pass similar
applications, a Convention of States will be called and there is nothing the federal
government can do to stop it. This isn’t a red movement or a blue movement. It’s an American movement based on one fundamental
question: Who decides? Who should decide the issues that affect your
community–Washington, D.C. or you? The Convention of States Action resolution
applies for an Article V convention that would propose constitutional reforms limited to
three topics. First, fiscal restraints on the federal government. With over $140 trillion in unfunded liabilities,
we need a balanced budget. But our resolution also allows for caps on
federal spending and taxation. The second topic is limiting the power and
jurisdiction of the federal government. The Supreme Court has authorized the feds
to have control over almost every aspect of our lives. The COS Action resolution empowers us to restore
the Constitution to its original intent and return power to states and the people. Finally, term limits. Thanks to a corrupt ruling class in Washington,
trust in the federal government is at an all-time low. That’s why our resolution gives convention
of states commissioners the power to send the career politicians packing, including
the judiciary and other federal officials. So what can you do? First of all, sign the petition at
and get your friends and family to do the same. With your full address, your state legislators
will know that you really are their constituent in their district. Call, email, or request a meeting with your
state legislators to ask them to co-sponsor the COS resolution in their state. Get plugged in with your local Convention
of States team so you can stay engaged, educate others, and respond to national calls to action. Our success depends on you. So we’re inviting you to be a part of history. Let’s invoke the constitutional solution that
is as big as the problem!

It had been mentioned about amending the 14th Amendment to end instant citizenship to babies born to illegal alien parents and temporary foreign visitors, causing the disastrous anchor baby population explosion, amongst other damages this inflicts on America and our society. This is so important and would solve so many illegal immigration problems Americans and America are suffering from, due to the liberals abusing the meaning and intent of it, piling  burdens upon burdens on our environment, social services, economy and limited resources.  I pray this will be seriously addressed because I know it will go a long way to fixing the wrongs done to us from the abuse of the 14th Amendment.

The Convention of States will accomplish NOTHING! Even if you get the required number of states ont he exact same amendment, We The People will never approve such amendment.

  • Donald Clifford

Also suggested is a permanent standing committee of state reps to actively seek and facilitate any future amendments. The process of getting 34 state legislatures to send reps is a difficult obstacle. Doing it once and keeping the process alive will make future amendments easier to propose, and sent to the states for ratification. This is the best way to permanently restrain federal government power, and the inordinate influence of special interests over and above, and contrary to, the general public good.

If you are willing to LIMIT wasteful military and ag spending, I might be interested. Otherwise, you are just tools of the Koch Brothers.

So changing a document that no one is following and pretty much have never followed makes sense how? You can change whatever you want on a piece of paper but unless we the people hold elected officials accountable to follow what is in a piece of paper, what it says is of little to no difference. We need to get the politicians to follow the constitution for once and then see what needs to be changed before we change something that is being completely ignored.

Amendment to the Constitution to require a 60% supermajority in the House to pass any new legislation and a simple majority to repeal any legislation.

We have to pass an amendment that forbids the federal government from being in the benefit/entitlement/subsidy business. #20Trillion

Lets Corporatise our constitution. We take away peoples votes for the US senate and give that right to our gerry-mandered representatives. If ALEC is behind it you know its good. NOT

Levin's amendments scare the majority for good reason.  Founder's separated power, yet Levin would have the unelected bureaucracy write law.  Not regulation, but fully constitutionalized law, approved by a few super-legislators unelected to their status.  The man who claims to oppose tyranny, tries to Trojan-horse tyranny in through the Article-V process.

If we want unelected regulators and regulations stopped, then write an amendment that says "Citizen's Life Liberty or Property can't be removed other than by legislated law and due process."  We don't need long, overly complex amendments with unintended consequences.

PATRIOTS! PUT YOUR MONEY AND YOUR EFFORT WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS! Get off that couch, sign the petition, tell your STATE LEGISLATORS that you want your state in the CONVENTION OF STATES. Then, call your friends and relatives and tell them to do the same! I do!

Half the country believes in a gun-free open borders welfare state, and you nice folks don't think this could possibly go sideways? Yeah right. Count me out.

I'm a Canadian citizen and I support the convention of states. My wife says I should of been born American and quite frankly since the very second prime Minister Justin Trudeau took office I've wished I was. By the way I'm conservative and follow your
Political parties very closely. President Donald Trump is the right person to lead your country. The Democrats are trying to destroy America and as far as I'm concerned President Donald Trump is your last hope. Good luck.

Top 6 ideas for new constitutional amendments:

    1) Make government involvement in education and tuition illegal at all levels of government. Only direct financial assistance (cash/voucher) at the state and local levels for those who qualify should be allowed.

    2) Abolish the Federal Reserve. Make government (even quasi-government) involvement in banking, money and interest rates illegal at all levels of government.

    3) Abolish the tax code. Make taxing income, assets and property illegal at all levels of government. Only sales tax should be allowed at any level of government.

    4) Make government run entitlements illegal at all levels of government. Only direct financial assistance (cash/voucher) at the state and local levels for those who qualify should be allowed.

    5) End the drug war. Make it illegal for government to regulate the personal consumption of products by adults at all levels of government.

    6) Make minimum wage laws illegal at all levels of government. Make it illegal for government to dictate terms of employment at all levels of government.

i have concerns about this because i am watching states destroy themselves, and trying to drag the rest of the country down with them.
Look at California, runaway debt, drug use in the streets and no one enforcing the laws, trash laying all over the cities, feces all over the place, and now they passed a resolution to bypass the electoral college. They want only California and New York to be the ones to select our presidents.
Whats to stop individual states from limiting free speech or abolishing the second amendment.
Minnesota has people now lobbing to give illegal aliens drivers licenses, and recently they stopped cleaning up state parks, just like California…how long til Minnesota starts having forest fires, just like California?
i am saddened to see how far our country has fallen because conservatives don't vote when they should. they allow those why scream nonsense to set policy instead of those who look at all the different angles and make informed decisions. What is to stop those with the loud voices and lose ethics from radically altering the constitution? what concessions will need to be made to appease them?

“Those seeking profits, were they given total freedom, would not be the ones to trust to keep government pure and our rights secure. Indeed, it has always been those seeking wealth who were the source of corruption in government. No other depositories of power have ever yet been found, which did not end in converting to their own profit the earnings of those committed to their charge.” – Thomas Jefferson

"If there be any among us who would wish to dissolve this Union, or to change its republican form, let them stand undisturbed as monuments of the safety with which error of opinion may be tolerated, where reason is left free to combat it." – Thomas Jefferson [First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1801]
